Anselma Widha Prihandita (she/her) is a Nebula Award-nominated writer of speculative fiction. She splits her time between the U.S. West Coast, where she currently teaches and studies, and Indonesia, where she grew up and where her home remains. She attended the Odyssey workshop in 2023 on their Fresh Voices Scholarship, and the Clarion workshop in 2024 as their Octavia Butler Scholar. Her stories are published or forthcoming in Clarkesworld, Cast of Wonders, and khōréō, among others. She is represented by Thais Afonso at Azantian Literary Agency.

When she isn’t writing fiction, she is a soon-to-be professor of rhetoric and composition. Her research areas include (but unfortunately aren’t limited to) decolonial theories, transnational writing, and translation studies. She forever struggles to balance her academic work and her creative work, though she can at least say that they influence each other, and that her creative success will have no negative effects on her tenure prospects (or vice versa).

Her dream is to own a cat or two. Yes, in this economy.
